Community art project by Wolf Nkole Helzle
To mark the anniversary, artist Wolf Nkole Helzle is opening his doors at Petrushof in Obermarchtal with myMatrix, the highly acclaimed audiovisual art installation that has already been shown in Beijing, Birmingham, Luxembourg and San Francisco, among other places. Using two video projectors controlled by specially developed software, the audience enters a spacious installation of images and sound. The current projection features thousands of previously unpublished photographs from the artist's travels and encounters, as well as artistic works from his photographic diary. Seventeen musicians were recorded in the recording studio for the myMatrix installation and interact with the images with their own musical genres.
» Further informationThe installation will be on display – and audible – for seven hours on both days of the exhibition. Michael Fetscher, owner of the White Fir recording studio in Trochtelfingen, used this material as the starting point for an ingenious idea. Together with Wolf Helzle, he invited renowned musicians to the studio to record seven hours of music in constant rotation, which can now be heard simultaneously in the Münsingen installation. The day in the studio could not have been more colourful, multifaceted and intense. Each musician was introduced to Helzle's visual cosmos, which could be seen on several monitors in all rooms.
» Further informationOf all images taken during the week from 28 May to 1 June 2018 of the Old Camp and the former military training area, 4,000 were selected, which are now projected onto the walls of a large room in the Atelierhaus BT18 using three video projectors. This collective work of art refers to the current transformation that the Old Camp is currently undergoing from military to private use, accompanies it and makes it visible and audible with highly topical artistic means and from a variety of perspectives. It illustrates the complexity of the process in a congenial way: The moving composition of W.N. Helzle interacts with the sounds arranged by Michael Fetscher.
